So in case you guys haven’t been keeping up with all this Anderson Silva crap, the UFC has been having trouble finding Anderson an opponent after Vitor Belfort pulled out of the fight due to injury. After some trouble getting a suitable opponent the UFC has settled on Demian Maia. The Marquardt, Sonnen and Maia triangle makes things pretty complicated but out of those three Maia is probably the best fit for a title shot. Since Marquardt already got his shot and lost and Maia beat Sonnen effortlessly, Silva can dominate Demian next.

This fight is going to be promoted as “The Best Striker” in the UFC vs “The Best Grappler” in the UFC. Sadly like most people Maia doesn’t have much of a chance to beat Silva. On the feet it is no contest, Silva will utterly decimate Maia. On the ground Maia obviously has a better chance but Silva is still an experienced ground fighter with a BJJ black belt and getting it to the ground won’t be easy. I don’t give a shit though I just want to watch Anderson Silva dominate someone again even if that someone is Demian Maia. With this addition UFC 112 at Abu Dhabi has a lot of good talent on it but no serious toss up fights that you have to put any thought into.
