Gomi has finally singed with the UFC! Even though Gomi has been sucking lately this is pretty fucking awesome. I hope that getting this contract will light a fire under his ass, if Gomi is motivated he is a very dangerous fighter. There has been no news of who Gomi will be fighting first or when he will be making his debut. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the “Fireball Kid” here is a decent highlight.

A Heavyweight MMA bout has been setup between Gary Goodridge and Gegard Mousasi for the Fields Dynamite show on December 31st. Mousasi is going to be coming in at a relatively large size disadvantage but Goodridge is terrible so that really doesn’t matter. If Mousasi wants to be taken seriously he has to stop fighting in Japan, he has accomplished everything he can there and it’s time to move on. He also has to abandon his dreams of fighting at Heavyweight. For those of you that are not familiar with Goodridge he is an old school UFC and Pride guy and is currently on a five fight losing streak. Here is Gary’s best fight

After so many years with the UFC you’d think that Mike Goldberg would make less mistakes when talking about MMA, or fighting sports in general. It’s fine to make a mistake once and a while, but this guy teeters on the edge of utter absurdity. I don’t think I’ve sat through a UFC event with out him saying something hilariously dumb.

When UFC 108 was originally announced I was super pissed that Rampage Jackson was not going to be fighting Evans. The buildup between the two personalities heated up pretty quickly during the Heavyweight season of The Ultimate Fighter. It’s like watching a horrible train wreck of a movie only to be more disappointed at the complete lack of climax, making the entire movie even more terrible than it was originally. It also sucks that Lil’ Nog, who I know for a fact could wipe his ass with Rashad Evans, was not going to be fighting either.

This shit is about a day late but better late then never I guess. I have to say that the Strikeforce Evolution event was pretty entertaining and I enjoyed the fights, although it as very short.
