After the fight Kim fatally died in the hospital due to the trauma caused in the ring. Afterward Kim’s mother, as well as the ref committed suicide adding to the terrible tragedy. This was one of the main catalysts that caused boxing commissions to reduce the maximum amount of rounds to 12. It was an insane back and forth battle, and Kim never gave up.
