Strikeforce Challengers IV: Results and Video

So the Challengers card was pretty shitty. Though it did have a larger feel for the live event, Strikeforce manages to pull off 1990 UFC-esque interviews, full with corny cage FX and 80’s generic metal.

Jorge Gurgel vs. Billy Evangelista

In his pre-fight interview Gurgel explains his strategy, and gives an exceptional explanation of why he is so horrible.  The fight was incredibly boring and goes to the scorecards. Both fighters did about the same on the feet and I saw this fight going either way, just because both guys sucked so much dick. Check it out.

Shane Del Rosario vs. Brandon Cash

Wow this fight is fucking awesome. Never have I seen an omoplata fully executed especially on a fat fuck. Usually in professional MMA it is used to sweep fighters, but you could tell Cash didn’t know what the fuck submissions were on the ground. I think at one point he went for a “skull crush”.

Jesse Taylor vs. Luke Rockhold

You may remember Jesse Taylor as the dumbass that got kicked out of the finals of TUF season 7 for being a drunken idiot. Well, here he shows his best as Luke Rockhold fucks his neck up. I wonder if Rockhold is a real name, or synonymous to the type of treatment he gives to Taylor’s choke prone neck.

Ousmane Thomas Diagne vs. Merrit Warren

Interesting fight. Apparently Ousmane is a San Shou guy, and in the beginning does a pretty decent job against Warren. As the fight progresses on the ground however, he shows that San Shou, San’t Shit against good old fashion jiu-jitsu.

Elisha Hellspur vs. Zoila Frausto

Frausto controls in the beginning of round one with superior stand up. She also throws a “superwoman” punch that lands pretty clean on Hellspur. The fight is pretty boring at this point, it is mostly a feeling out period for round one.

Round two heats up a little bit and Hellspur comes out with a horrible combination that misses. Frausto is able to make the distance again and land some ground and pound, as well as some good kicks standing up. Hellspur gets cut in the round, over her right eye.

Frausto controls the entire fight, Hellspur does not use her wrestling enough. Overall… boring as fuck but not as bad as Gurgel.

Here are the final results…

Shane del Rosario defeated Brandon Cash via submission (omoplata) at 2:57 of round one
