It’s almost time for Strikeforce: Fedor vs Rogers and we have our predictions ready. We are only doing the main card since we don’t know what other fights we will get to see. The event starts at 9:00 PM EST Live on CBS.

Also at about 8:45 PM EST the MMACrazed live chat will be going up on our forums, we will be on there through out the entire event so drop by and tell us what you guys think of the fights.

On to the predictions!

Fedor Emelianenko vs Brett Rogers

Dan: Does Brett Rogers have a chance in this fight? Not really. Rogers has pretty much everything going against him for this match up. The only thing that can possibly help Rogers is that he has the right attitude going into this. Rogers doesn’t seem to be afraid of Fedor and that’s good. Of course the issue with this is that Rogers isn’t scared of Fedor because Rogers is a fool and not because he has the skills to defeat him.

The strategy in Roger’s corner is to rush in there and try to knock Fedor’s fucking head off. I like it, it sounds very technical. This fight is basically a remake of Fedor vs Goodridge. Rogers is better than Goodridge but the strategy is the same and the skill set is pretty much the same.

It’s odd though because I for some reason have a bad feeling about this fight. I always get like this now-a-days when Fedor fights because he has been dominating for so long and at some point he will suffer a fluke loss. It’s pure statistics, at some point Fedor will get Matt Serra’d and bullshit Brett Rogers might be the guy to do it. As Garrett once said “Rogers is just bad enough to win.” Fedor also looked very sloppy in his last fight with Arlovski even though he ended up knocking Andrei the fuck out.

But overall it’s very simple. Fedor has better ground, better standup, better cardio, better everything and more experience. Aside from Arlovski everyone that Roger’s has fought have been complete scrubs.

Verdict: Fedor – 1st Round – TKO

Garrett: This should be a pretty good fight overall. Rogers is going to come out aggressive like a pitbull—expect Fedor to start off a little slower, as he tries to weather Roger’s attack. I don’t know the game plan the Roger’s camp has put together, and it may be a slower more tentative game, but if he comes out like all his other fights, expect heavy and hard punches early.

If Fedor is able to land a takedown or take Rogers past the second round, he will surely be able to take this one. Rogers needs to come in hard and strong and test Emelianenko’s chin early, and hope for a referee stoppage.

Verdict: Fedor – 1st round – submission

Jake Shields vs Jason Miller

Dan: This is an interesting fight. Shields is obviously the superior ground fighter but Miller’s jits isn’t bad. Miller is obviously the superior striker because Shield’s striking is absolutely atrocious. This fight is going to come down to how well Miller can defend against the takedown. I don’t think Shields will be able to easily sub Miller but if he gets him down I think he can hold him.

Miller is the more overall well rounded fighter and I think he will be a very big challenge for Shields. Miller is likely to win the first round or two while Shields attempts to test his nonexistent stand up game. When that fails for Jake he will take Miller down, not be able to sub him and hold him for the remainder of the match winning him a decision victory.

Verdict: Shields – Split Decision

Garrett: This should be an interesting fight. Both Mayhem and Shields are both capable fighters that have been around for some time. Though Miller has been busy with his show Bully Beatdown on MTV, he will still be a hard opponent for the 28-4 Brazillian Jiu-jitsu specialist.

I think that Miller has the clear advantage on the feet and Shields has the advantage on the ground. Though I typically don’t like Shields style, I think he takes this one.

Verdict: Shields, 2nd round submission

Gegard Mousasi vs Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou

Dan: Sokoudjou is terrible and Mousasi is fucking awesome, that’s all there really is to say about this one.  Mousasi will finish this fight however he damn well pleases. I feel that Sokoudjou has abandoned his tactic of going all out at the start then gassing and getting raped, so that might help him stay alive for a little while.  I’m excited to see Mousasi fight again but hopefully he will be getting better competition then Sokoudjou in the future.

Verdict: Mousasi – 1st – Submission

Garrett: Sokoudjou disappoints everyone unless he is against someone as horrible as Bob Sapp. Sometimes, the athletic Predator looking African Assassin looks like he’d be better suited for another sport rather than MMA.

Mousasi is a monster and trains with Fedor. His style is explosive, and his demeanor reminds me much of The Last Emperor.

Verdict: Mousasi via 1st round TKO

Fabricio Werdum vs Antonio Silva

Dan: I think this is the toughest call of the night.  One of the major difference between the two fighters besides the size is the level of competition they have fought. Antonio Silva has been pretty much fighting scrubs his entire career while Werdum has been fighting top notch guys. Some of the names Werdum has fought include Brandon Vera, Arlovski, Alex Emelianenko, Overeem and Big Nog. Werdum definitely has the Jiu Jitsu advantage  but Silva probably has the standing advantage.

Werdum’s objective should be to get Silva on his back. From their Fabricio has enough experience to finish this fight.

Verdict: Werdum – 2nd – Submission

Garrett: Werdum fell off the wagon and is now forced to fight someone with Acromegaly. Thankfully Bigfoot isn’t as retarded as most of the huge guys with the condition, and isn’t as slow as drying paint, so this fight shouldn’t be absolutely horrible.

This one is actually a really hard one to judge. I like Silva, but something makes me think he is going to let me down like all of the other retarded giants. Match that up with Werdum’s BJJ and it may be a equation for disaster. Silva can’t fight in most organizations because of his condition, and for that, I give him the edge in this fight.

Verdict: Silva via 3rd round Gianting (TKO)
