Time for some UFC 107 Predictions. I’m pumped for this event it should be a beaster.

Main Event: BJ Penn vs Diego Sanchez

BJ Penn is superior then Diego Sanchez in pretty much every aspect, except being fucking crazy. I feel that the only reason that Sanchez can be considered a remote threat to BJ is because he throws like a wild man but with technique. So Sanchez pretty much has an improved punchers chance. Penn’s recently improved training camp is slowly making him a more dominating force. He is coming in much stronger,faster and better conditioned then he has in the the past, a focused BJ Penn is very dangerous.

Verdict: BJ Penn via 3rd Round Submission

Frank Mir vs Cheick Kongo

I have been starting to hate Frank Mir more and more lately. That dude is incredibly full of himself right after he got absolutely decimated by Brock Lesnar. But still he will most likely fuck Cheick Kongo up. I see Mir instantly going for the takedown and finishing Kongo in the 1st or maybe 2nd round. Then I see Mir getting up and acting like he’s the shit and calling Lesnar out again. This fight is a very big test for Cheick Kongo, if he can somehow get past Mir he is back into title contention. After watching the countdown show and seeing Kongo refuse to do the staredown at the weigh-ins Kongo looks like he legitimately hates Frank Mir. Cheick got the anger that he needs to beat Mir but sadly he doesn’t have the skills.

Verdict: Frank Mir via 2nd Round Submission

Kenny Florian vs Clay Guida

This is gonna be a good fight and my candidate for fight of the night. Guida is the same ol Guida he has always been. He will go out there with mad energy and try to slug it out, once he has problems he will attempt takedowns until he gets one. Even though he has been working with Greg Jackson I feel like that fighting style in ingrained in the Guida. Florian has been getting better and better over the years and he has Guida beat in most aspects of the game except maybe wrestling which I feel he would counter with his superior jiu jitsu anyway.

Verdict: Kenny Florian via Unanimous Decision

Paul Buentello vs Stefan Struve

This is an interesting fight. Struve is tall as shit and has decent jiu jitsu but his striking is pretty bad from what I’ve seen. Buentello has the advantage on the feet but I have never really liked him, I dunno what it is. I think I’m going to go with Struve because I have felt bad for him ever since he go torn apart at the hands of Junior Dos Santos, in his UFC debut no less. I just want him to do well for no real reason.

Verdict: Stefan Struve via 2nd Round Submission

Jon Fitch vs Mike Pierce

Fitch wins. Mike Pierce is too one dimensional and Fitch has many many skills. Pierce can’t take Fitch to the ground and he can’t stand with him, sorry Pierce… get wrecked. This is a bullshit fight all together though, Fitch is a top contender in the welterweight division and he should be fighting people way better then Mike Pierce.

Verdict: Jon Fitch via 2nd Round TKO
