UFC 108 Predictions!
January 2nd, 2010 at 3:49 EST - by Dan

The holidays are over and it’s time to get back on track. We are starting off the new year with the “Cursed” UFC 108 card. This card has had a ridiculous amount of changes and canceled fights, which gives all the combatants on the current card some room to shine. They all have an opportunity to prove themselves tonight and impress the crowd. Lets hope they can deliver.
Rashad Evans vs Thiago Silva

This is an important fight for both guys. We have already seen that Thiago Silva can recover mentally after getting KTFO but we haven’t seen if Rashad Evans can. I don’t really like Evans much but I think he can win this fight. His hands are always improving and he can use his wrestling with some ground and pound in case he gets into trouble. This fight will answer the question of whether a Kickboxer/Wrestler guy beats a Muay Thai/BJJ guy, it’s just like undisputed.
Verdict: Rashad Evans Unanimous Decision
Dustin Hazelett vs Paul Daley

As long as Hazelett is smart he should win this fight. Takedowns is all that should be on his mind. Hazelett will have no problem with Daley as long as he gets him to the ground. It’s no question that if the fight stays on the feet Daley will win.
Verdict: Dustin Hazelett via 2nd Round Submission
Joe Lauzon vs Sam Stout

Lauzon is a good fighter and he is always improving, his problem is that he thinks he’s the shit. Although Lauzon is the favorite he should be training his ass off because in order to get back into title contention he has to finish Stout and finish him impressively.
Verdict: Joe Lauzon via 2nd Round Submission
Junior Dos Santos vs Gilbert Yvel

Yvel is horrid. This is Junior Dos Santos’s chance to have another impressive finish and also show that he is a complete fighter. Although I think Dos Santos can finish Yvel on the feet I think he should take him down and finish him on the ground.
Verdict: Junior Dos Santos via 1st Round TKO
Jim Miller vs Duane Ludwig

This is somewhat of a toss up fight and I really don’t give a shit about it. Miller wins because his ground is better.
Verdict: Jim Miller via 3rd Round Submission
